5 Days Left to Register for Youth Drama Classes!

6th STreet Playhouse School of Drama logoWe’ve got wonderful classes for young people lined up in the 6th Street Playhouse School of Drama.  If your child is interested, please don’t wait until the last minute to sign up because sometimes classes get canceled if we can’t predict sufficient enrollment.

Fall Session I Classes: August 8 – September 30, 2011

Youth/Teen Courses

Improv Mania (ages 12-17)
4 PM – 6 PM Thursdays (Studio or GK Hardt Lobby) $175.00
This fun class utilizes theater games, scene work and group exercises to teach teens the fundamentals of improvisation. Students will learn to relax and react on stage while expanding their creativity in a safe, respectful and environment.

Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance (ages 7-11)
4PM – 6 PM Thursdays (Studio/GK HArdt Lobby) $175.00 Instructor: Shari Hopkinson
This fun class utilizes theater games, songs, and dance training to teach the fundamentals of musical theatre. Students will learn to relax and react on stage while expanding their creativity in a safe, respectful environment. The class will culminate in a musical cabaret-style showcase the last day of class!

Adventures in Acting (ages 12-18)
4 PM – 6PM Wednesdays (Studio/GK Hardt Lobby) $175
This class is open to beginners who are curious about what it takes to be an actor. Students will explore the basic techniques and fundamental vocabulary essential to creating a performance and will apply this knowledge to the rehearsal and performance of monologues and scenes. Rehearsal time outside of class is required.

The Youth Winter Theater Workshop (ages 8-16)
